What is Three Things?

Three Things is a monthly digest of three resources to help you engage with God, your neighbour and the culture around you. Not one thing (too little), not ten things (TMI!), but three. Trust us, it’s a good number.

The newsletter is curated by Phillip Johnston and instigated by Andy Patton. Once upon a time, Phillip and Andy worked together at a Christian study center in England. Back then, Phillip would send regular emails to his colleagues with helpful things to read or listen to. Ever the innovator, Andy thought those emails should go to more people.

And thus, in 2018, Three Things was born.

What Will I Get By Signing Up?

The monthly Three Things digest issue will (usually) hit your inbox on the first Thursday of the month.

We also send out a monthly Miscellany issue on the third Thursday. This is an update on what we’re both thinking about and working on, laden with links galore.

We also do occasional courses on subjects of interest to our readers. To date, we have done courses on violence in the Bible, the Beatitudes, deconstruction, and biblical symbols.

We also publish book excerpts from upcoming books we’re excited about.

Why Should I Become a Paid Subscriber?

Upgrade to Paid

Three Things runs on a patronage model. You’ll receive everything we publish for free when you sign up.

If you value the newsletter, consider a paid subscription. The key paid subscriber benefit is the ability to join in live on any courses we do. Otherwise, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that our families might get a little more ice cream because of your generosity.

To become a member, just sign up for a paid membership of $5/month ($60/year). And should you want to help fund our family vacations, you can subscribe as a Founding Member at whatever lavish and magnificent rate you decide.
